In cycling, if you’re standing still, you’re losing. I apply that same logic to my photography. I’m Vincent Engel, and I specialize in capturing grit and reality of life on two wheels.
From the mud and technical chaos of MTB and gravel to the sustained intensity of the road, I prefer to be in the middle of the action rather than watching from a distance. My work is about the sweat, the landscape, and the split-second decisions that define a race. When the bikes are tucked away, I bring that same focus to concert (or dogs:) photography—capturing the raw energy of a live performance where there are no second takes.
A bit about me: I’m 46 years young and, fair warning, I operate on high-octane energy. When I don’t have a camera in my hand, I’m the professional nappy changer for my son, Jip.
I am based in Amsterdam, but I’m available wherever you need me to be.
